Garden / Hacienda Formal
A warm December evening in the Yucatán — around 25–27 °C at sunset, cooler after 10. Breathable fabrics and earth tones will make you the best-dressed and most comfortable person in the room.
For women
- Long flowy dress in a warm earth tone (terracotta, ochre, sand, olive, cream)
- Midi dress + block heels or wedges (stone + grass underfoot)
- Lightweight linen or silk blend
- A wrap or shawl for the cooler night air
For men
- Linen or lightweight suit in cream, tan, sand, or muted blue
- Open-collar shirt or lightweight tie — no heavy wool
- Leather loafers or dress boots (not brand-new; you'll walk on stone)
- Optional guayabera (very hacienda-appropriate)
Please, no…
- White or ivory dresses (please, no) or anything that reads bridal
- Stilettos — the courtyards are stone and gravel
- Heavy dark wool suits — you will melt
- Beach flip-flops or casual sneakers
